	This year’s main event on the MA calendar, the 54th Merdeka Ball will be held on Saturday, 10 September starting at 6 P.M. at JW Marriott Hotel, Admiralty, Hong Kong..

	Performer and emcee details

	Edwin Gutierrez Band Numerous “influential” people have described Edwin Gutierrez Band as “the best-kept secret party band in Hong Kong”. They perform almost exclusively for the elite Hong Kong Country Club where you’re only as good as your last performance. Led by US-trained music producer/keyboardist Edwin Gutierrez, they have met all the entertainment challenges thrown at them by this pickiest bunch of people. From the core group of five musicians to a big band of 20 musicians, they’ve done them all. Rock to Jazz. Fronted by the ever- charismatic Antoinette, she could belt a smooth “Broadway” song to a Tina Turner type of songs in a flick of hand. Her vocal skills is complemented by Ricky, drummer, who does a very good cover of Jason Mraz, Maroon 5 and other contemporary artists while Jimmy, bassist, lends his R&B vocal chops. Quincy, considered one of the best of the young guns in guitar playing rounds out the repertoire with rock vocals.
	Sand Artist Xuan Xuan Xuan Xuan began her career as a Sand Artist in 2007, and since then has been dazzling audiences with her dramatic yet touching performances. Ms. Xuan’s performances are all her original creations, and she is one of only a few such Sand Artists in China About Sand Art Also known as Sand Animation, Sand Art is a style of live art performance where a series of images are created using sand on a flat surface. The image will often be displayed using an overhead projector or lightboard, and synchronized with music. The Artist repeatedly applies sand to the surface, and creates images by drawing lines and figures in the sand with his/her hands, often telling a story in the process.
	Christina Teh (Shu Ping) Chinese-born Malaysian national, Christina Teh is a well known personality in the Malaysian and Hong Kong entertainment scene as a talented TV host, actor, singer and dancer. In Malaysia, her beauty and charm was rewarded with the 4th runner-up place in the prestigious 2007 Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant and appearances in two seasons of the Astro Chinese New Year Telemovie. Christina currently resides in Hong Kong, and is frequently seen appearing as a model in the city-state’s Apple Daily newspaper and TV commercials for reputed clients as DBS Bank & Festival City, and undertaking emcee responsibilities for such events as Frederique Constant Watch’s annual dinner, TVB’s Music Battle & numerous product launches. Whilst taking time away from her professional career, Christina looks to further develop her natural interest in singing, dancing and acting in her spare time.
	Harith Iskander Harith Iskander is generally acknowledged as Malaysia’s premier stand-up comedian. For the past 20 years, he has performed ‘live’ at hundreds of shows and entertained thousands, locally and internationally, with his unique and original material. His comedy performance is in great demand and any company function is never complete without Harith inevitably bringing the house down with his side-splitting performances. In Oct 2010, Harith was the headliner in the “Kings and Queen of Comedy Asia” tour (which featured five of the best stand-up comedians from Malaysia, Singapore, India and Vietnam) that played to packed houses of thousands, in both Singapore and KL. This year in July, Harith was in Jakarta and Bali for an Indonesian Comedy Tour, which was, of course, a roaring success.
